What could be the consequences of having it all? (thoughts about future possibilities)

Today i wanna talk about the future, tendencies and technologies, and its possible impacts on a social/mental/emotional level to us human beings. Rather than all obvious goods that come from technological development.

Before, let me explain one thing, i will try to write more about others things than my own life on a whining/expression (whatever way you see it) base, but it takes time, effort, organization and feeling at least a little good or inspired, which is hard for me nowadays. My apologies for doing that!

Well, the world is surely changing, as we live our daily lives, we don’t seem to notice a lot of the changes the world has been going through, though the time needed for innovation has only been decreasing as we can see in this graphic:

And that kind of sick speed advacing leads us to a problem we all already deal with daily, and probably only few have mastered how to deal with it, most of us are struggling with it, and that is the excess of information and its effects on us.

First problem: Excess of information

Take me as an example, some years ago, when i was younger, i would wander through sites that are so addicting, those who had some catch titles, infos and pictures, and the site would be full of pop ups, links and ads from other sites from their network.
Well, i guess you all know what happend, i lost hours and hours of my days, and weekends doing something that almost always wasn’t productive to my inner criteria. Like me, millions of other people fell for this trap and still fall nowadays, though i don’t do this, i still have focus problems while using the internet, i’m learning to say NO! But of course, this takes time, as it took me years to be in the place i am now in food habits (which isn’t on my goal still).

Second strike: Social isolation

This a problem widely discussed all over the media, just like the first problem, we are facing it now, it’s not a future thing, and this problem is bigger than the first one, because it doesn’t resume to how we individualy handle the information we are given, but involve all the people in our social circles, and we can’t change them.

What one can do is trying to use all social media given now in a intelligent way, and try to make meaniful relationship, i can tell by myself that there is significant difference between Digital contact and real contact, the real one involves so much more than what i know, like our senses and perception, it’s subtle in a way i can’t describe very well.

But what can we do we it comes to others? And the way others act will surely reflect on us, we are not isolated islands. What if your girlfriend/boyfriend uses the phone while with you? Or maybe even a friend? And if we talk about our relations nowadays being more about staying in home than going out and meeting people, worsening even more our social problems?

But getting a little deeper into this issue, maybe even on a philosophical view, isn’t this the fruit of our own weakness, our lack of domain from awkward silences, our running from ourselves, the lack of interest in what other people have to say or show, and our own lack when talking or showing things?

Ok, i talked about the main problems ravaging humanity today and created by our own technology (and who elses technology we know? Aliens? LOL)

Now for the future possible impacts here
Asteroid incoming, Fuck!!!

This is sure not about an asteroid hitting earth, because it would be a problem not made by humans. This is about our future dream like technologies.

What do you mean Black US? Our Dream techs against us? You are insane!!

If we could have it all, and we might soon, and i mean, if get to a level of biotechnology where it is possible to offer novel cosmetic treatment to every human on earth, what would be the consequence? We don’t even need to go to this level, what if we reach VR, where in our perfect simulated ambients we will be whatever we like, just like a dream, what this would lead to?

In a world without sexual diseases, what sex would be like? In a world without any need to work and a basic income (a widely discussed topic, search for it) what would drive humans?

Think about those things for sometime, what oppend the door to the problems aforementioned was giving more options, i’m not saying i’m against options, but i’m just inviting you to think about the future and what it might be, and even discuss it here, so we can be prepared for the things to come.

My opinion

In a world where everyone can be beautiful, beauty will lose a great deal of value, that also means that you beauty won’t be so much considered, so i don’t think it’s worth to dream about this gift from the future, it will be just normal. What will drive people to get together in such a world, personality? Status Quo?

If Status Quo turns to be the new standard of attraction, what a basic income society would do to it? Would your money and assets make a big change on how others perceive you? Because the exclusivity factor will be out of the game, money will lose its magic.

What would be left?

We all have our own personality, even if it is mimicking others, it’s our personality, when it comes to this, there are many categorizations we can do like:

Strange people:

Head bangers:
And of course, normal people, who might tend towards any of these styles, or others not cited here, on events or over normal life when freaking out:
vaghar social psych easp 2011

Other status Quo aspects

Like fame, power, strenght, skill, intelligence and others, that is, if intelligence, skill and strenght aren’t destroyed by future technologies too, of course.

And finally, if we lived in a world where virtual reality would rule, what value would our daily numbs lifes have? Would humans still want to have physical bodies, i say yes, not everyone would want VR or be completely immerse in VR like an addiction, but the numbers would incridible high, you can see the pattern by the using of technologies like smartphones everyday, almost everyone is hooked to this piece of tec nowadays.

To finish, in a world without sexual diseases, infidelity would soar even more, everyone if given the social basis to work on this, would be crazy hooking up. But would that fill the human experience and void? Would people stay forever like this, or soon would they realize that what they are doing is not bringing a lot of hapiness and learn how to deal with it so to change.

Leave your thoughts in the comments section so we can discuss, spread the world and help to publish this blog in anyway you can (links, spreading the news/words, liking, reblogging), i will appreciate it!

Why choosing to live on Mars could be a really bad ideia?

Mars, oh Mars! This rounded red planet floating on the sky, lovely place to go, right?

Not so fast mindless decisions, if you look over history, what you are going to find? Take the Americas colonization for example, did it went really good? Why do you think it would be any different on Mars? I mean, it might be good right now, but has it always been? And, is it good for all countries today? I surely tell a big NO!

What i really think that it is going to happen to Mars, is something really near to what we always saw here on earth, whole countries still today fucked up because of some wrong colonization, i’m not saying colonizing some place is always bad, but there are good ways to do it, i tell you.

But i might be wrong, we never did something so huge to this extent ever before, like colonizing a whole planet, it might go really well, if good intentions goes along with right work, but it is not common to see these two fail to reach each other. What reasons we have to belive that this time it will be different?

Why did i want to go to Mars in the first place?

One day, as usual, dissapointed as usual with life, i wondered, as usual too, why do i keep living? What there is to life? (I sound like the depression and pessimistic king, right?), so i thought with myself: “i like so much the ideias and trends from the future, why not partaking in the development of humanity by going to Mars?”.

Maybe i could find something good there to do, some warm people, or simply have more value, put my skills learned until there (future point time) to good use. Or whatever…

But as you may see, this ideia was halted in me when i thought deeper about it.

Well, but what do i dread so much?

What i don’t like about the Mars ideia, is all the risk and unknown behide it, if we go to there, we have a greater risk to die, if life is already bad here on earth, with all those cool things to do, imagine the hell it would be on a new planet, where we don’t have anything really other than work?

What would be needed to go there? Let’s say 1.000.000 persons went to Mars like Elon Musk says in THIS ARTICLE, and let’s say 88% of these people, which would be 880.000 sold everything they had on earth to go to Mars, the rest of these people, the 120.000 already had the money. Ok, but let’s suppose that because of spatial laws, we can’t have assets on more than one planet, nor be citzens of more than one planet, what would happen? You would be going a one way trip to Mars with no cards to return! No matter what was your previously state!

I suppose some people, if not all, would be ok with this law, after all, why did they apply if they can’t follow the fucking rule? Well my friends, that happens before you know to a deep level something, once in Mars things can be really different than what you thought, imagine living in a really risky place, where you could die really quick if anything goes wrong with your suit, that is the kind of risk you will be living 24 hours.

You might starve at this place, you might die from the radiation there, as this is a planet without magnetic protection because it has a solid core, rather than liquid core like earth, which might fuck you up completely, changing your DNA, making lots of cancer in way to deliver your soul to Hell! Hahahahaha!

Maybe Doom, even turns true, which would be funny, lol!maxresdefault

But don’t forget the worst of it all, you might be thinking you will be doing something historic, which i won’t denny, but think about all the work you will have to do, and it won’t be for much, because you will not even be able to construct some patrimony there, as there is nothing to the red planet in it’s begin. Well, if you are an immortal, that doesn’t matter really, right?

What about earth?

Well folks, i think that earth will be really better when we start colonizing some planets out there,it is just like the old countries who colonized the Americas, Africa and the Asia, once they did it, they got more rich, and somehow now, misery lives more to these ex-colonized places than in their origin country, it’s like humanity exports misery to whatever place it goes.

So, i think the same might show to apply too in the future, Mars will be a fucking futuristic slave colony, where we mine resources and send them to earth, fucking leaving the planet with just traces of what it exports. Selling the ideia of Terraforming, which might happens, and might be really good once it happens, but what a hell of a time it will take? And why do we want to Terraform Mars instead of living in our Terra (i know, it is for the safeguard of the humanity, progress and stuff like that)? Isn’t Terrarepairing easier than Terraform?

Once we leave to Mars earth will get really better, but why? Because as developed countries nowadays were the ones to colonize, earth in general will go through the same process, that what history says, and you may say i’m wrong and that we can’t predict the future, which i agree, but what we always used to forecast the future? What we already know, it’s recorded on books, and that is my shoot.

So what will be left to earth?

A really good place to live, much better than today probably, maybe not all places, but all places in general will evolve, and over time every place will be quite good to live as any other, just choose and go! Even more if you consider the fact that we are getting more consciousness about ecological problems, social problems, technological problems, etc. All sums up to a better place to live, don’t you think?

But dad… i still wanna go to mars!!

If you really still wants to go, in case the chance happens to you, just do it, nobody will miss you truly other than those who know you, maybe (unless you are some big star, or whatever). But yet, i still feel the call to go too, be an adventurer, an explorer, a pioneer! But really? If i learned to use just half of my intelligence, i should wait and see what will become of this place before venturing into the unknow, after all:

Better the devil you know than the devil you don’t know

Well folks, look up at some pics from Mars, so to give an ideia of what it might look like as a colony, and how many people are interested.

And here is the earth, What it might look like in the future (i tried to keep it kind of realistic, because i don’t wanna dive too much in utopia)

The real challenge for an ASI

Much is talked about the Artificial Superintelligence (ASI), which should come just as soon as we make the first Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), and which come long after our created (actual state) Artificial Narrow Intelligence (ANI).

If you wanna know more about why i’m talking about this topic, or fully understand what i mean in this topic, please check out THIS, in case you didn’t already.

Contrary to the author at “Wait But Why?”, i kind of have a feel that humanity, and an ASI should not differentiate so much in the end, when it comes to some things, it’s just a matter of seeing, humanity isn’t completely oblivious about the greats misteries of universe, i don’t see how being superintelligente would lead to this AI having answers we do not have, or fully understanding things we only grasp.

Of course, the author of WBW, has his point when he says that superintelligence, along with the development of others senses humans don’t have, should lead an ASI to make things we cannot even imagine, or understand. But that doesn’t make it very super ultra pontent in my view, i think moderation is the wisest path when thinking about this. Humanity is not to be taken as nothing (and no, i’m not kidding).

When it comes to the part where an ASI could easily extinct the human race though, i agree fully with the WBW author, i don’t think we need to discuss here why, right? Grey/Gray Goo is a sure and a terrifying way to make it. But enough of this, why do i think an ASI will not be very much ahead of us when it comes to grasping existence, and why this may be our biggest downfall (i will talk about this on other topic)?

What is to grasp the existence?

Grasping the existence is to feel your colocation inside of it, and know that, you don’t know everything, and there are things you don’t even imagine. The great mysteries of the universe, can an ASI win over it? Can an ASI actually find ways to overcome something so big, so massive, that we can’t even understand well, like the Universe Thermic Death? Maybe it can understand all the laws that involves it, but to overcome it, I think it can’t, it’s the great filter for all that exists in the Universe, and we have no proof of pararell universe.

But what that might mean for us?

That might be humanity biggest downfall, to see the appice of its own creation, fail to save anything against the hard codded laws of the universe. What that means to humans? Depression, and that might be one reason why intelligence is not found anywhere in the universe. Maybe they just see the meaningless everything and vanish forever.

One way or another, we might be doomed to cease existence, just because we can not make it until the very last moment, end of all and win over its supreme absolute laws.

I’m sorry this article was so short, but i took so much time to write it that i actually have forgotten what would be written here.

A way to transfer consciousness to an artificial carrier

I like the ideias of transhumanism, so i always get myself thinking about it from time to time, one that stuck to me and to many others as impossible, or unreasonable hard, is the ideia of dispense the human brain to an artificial tech made carrier. How would we transfer consciouness, what would guarantee that we wouldn’t die along the process and just create a copy of us?

To answer this i will come with the fundamental analysis of scenario, electronics ships are made of atoms, so is the brain too. Atom is the basic building blocks to matter as we know it. If we can create a life with consciouness on a biological array of atoms who can say we can’t create it too on an artificial manner?

So what should we do?

We should first fully understand the brain, and i mean, everything, every process, every reaction, then we should move to activate and completely inactivate parts of our brain fuctioning and having no substitute, just ceasing their existence out of the world, and once again activate these parts by rejoining the missing link, and achieve previous cognitive function.

Once we are able to do this, we can then tread the final steps to a completely artificial carrier. That involves substitute parts of the biological brain to the artificial cognitor, for instance, our sense of balance, we could easily start with this part, even more if we tested it with some disabled volutaries, who can’t make it very well right now, and seek for their cure. Later we could try with short memory, long memory (each isolated). Until we transfered everything and no part of the old biological self was there, i’m sure if you lose part of your brain you will not kill your consciouness, but if you “just try” to transfer the brain to the artifcial cognitor, we surely can die in the process. Following step by step program we more soon than later, can transform ourselves into machines.

On a more advanced level we can just make the process almost instataneous, like a electric shock. than in the bat of an eye we will be machines, not humans only.

What do you think about my hypothesis?

Science forgot about skeletal postural dieseases

We might surely be on the brink of a wonderful scientific revolution, though we may have missed some points. Everyone is talking about wonderful (indeed) possibilities that nanotechnology will bring to us, but are we tackling everything needed to make our lives better, or had we forgot about it?

If you follow science health news and forecasts like me, you will see that we can find great amount of texts about nanotech, stemcells and DNA manipulation towards the greater good of humanity on many levels. Like nanotech autobots that would kill cancer, kill all kind of virus (would be amazing to living on STD free world), bacterias, and give support or even enchance our functioning to superhuman levels making us do now impossible feats. Or stemcells amazing possibilities like 3D printing organs, grafts of skin, and preservation of our cells for future needs. Or we can talk about DNA manipulation too, which would lead to better overall functioning human population without “incored” diseases (DNA caused)/core defect, or with general better traits, like intelligence in what is related to it.

But we forgot about our Skeletal Postural Diseases. Nobody is talking about how we can use these techs to cure scoliosis for example? How we can make crooked rib cages perfect ones. How we can fix wrong teeth positioning to its fundamental level (working in the bones that hold the teeth), without breaking needed equilibrium? How we can grow taller equally on all bones without it being by unnatural form? Maybe those things are too hard to even think about, but it will not get better if we don’t start working out on these things, more study should be conducted towards it, i hold this opinion.

Do you agree with me or not? If you don’t i challenge you to prove your point on the comments below!

But this is not all we are forgetting, i might talk soon about how we are forgeting the importance of sound on a VR scenario… UPDATE: HERE
